Thistlebury Tales : Robot RealitiesA self-published book written by my husband, Llewellyn Mortensen, and illustrated by me.
Personal work.
9x6 hardcover book with 40 pages.
Geoff is a Robot. He is also the Scoutmaster of Thistlebury, a whimsical town filled with life, fun, and inhabitants of all shapes and sizes. In our stories, Geoff spends time with three friends; Gilbert the Mad Scientist Toucan, Bartholomew the Praying Mantis Gardener, and Carl the Fennec Fox Astronomer. In each story, Geoff learns something about himself, or the world. And his friends learn it with him.
Thistlebury came into being over 10 years ago in a small apartment in Norfolk, VA. It has grown over that time. From an idea for a drawing challenge, to art prints, and now finally to its first book! All of the story illustrations were created using liquid watercolor and brush pen on cold press.
